About KudiGrid
Ending arguments over light money.
KudiGrid is a Nigerian shared-power billing platform built to make shared electricity fair, transparent, and dispute-free.
The problem
In Nigeria, millions of households, compounds, estates, shops, and markets share electricity. Whether it's a generator in a compound, a solar array in an estate, or a DisCo connection shared across flats — the bill always has to be split.
And that's where the arguments begin. Who used the most power? Where did the diesel money go? Was the meter reading real? Why am I paying the same as someone who uses twice as much?
These arguments — over "light money" — damage relationships in families, compounds, and business communities every month.
What KudiGrid does
KudiGrid is a billing and record-keeping platform designed specifically for Nigerian shared-power groups. It lets groups:
- Formalise their billing rules in a written Power Agreement — accepted by all members.
- Record meter readings with photo evidence so nobody can dispute the numbers.
- Split bills fairly — by actual usage where sub-meters exist, by agreed percentage where they don't.
- Log every expense — diesel, maintenance, repairs — with receipts visible to all members.
- Give every member access to the same shared ledger — no hidden information.
- Record and resolve disputes transparently, with a permanent audit trail.
What KudiGrid is not
KudiGrid does not sell electricity, supply power, install meters, or deal with any electrical infrastructure. It is purely a billing and evidence platform. If you need electrical work done, please engage a qualified licensed electrician.
Where we are
KudiGrid is currently in active pilot. We are working with early groups across Nigeria to refine the platform before a wider launch. If you'd like to be part of the pilot or have feedback to share, we'd like to hear from you.
