FAQs
Frequently asked questions.
Plain answers to the most common questions about KudiGrid.
Does KudiGrid sell electricity?
No. KudiGrid is a billing and record-keeping platform. We do not generate, distribute, or sell electricity. We help groups that already share electricity track costs, record evidence, and split bills fairly.
Does KudiGrid install meters, solar panels, wiring, or generators?
No. KudiGrid does not install or supply any electrical equipment. We are a software platform. For physical installations, please engage a qualified licensed electrician.
Can we use KudiGrid without individual meters?
Yes. Usage-based billing is preferred where reliable individual sub-meters exist. Where no individual meter exists, KudiGrid supports agreed split (fixed percentage contributions) or contribution-only tracking. Members agree on the method upfront through a published Power Agreement.
What if someone disputes a bill?
Any member can raise a formal dispute on a bill, meter reading, or expense. The group admin reviews the dispute and responds. All disputes and their resolutions are recorded permanently and are visible to members.
Can members see expenses and receipts?
Yes. All expenses — diesel, repair, maintenance, and other shared costs — are visible to all members in the shared ledger. Receipts can be attached as photo evidence.
Is admin margin visible to members?
Yes. If the group admin charges an admin margin, it must be disclosed in the Power Agreement before any member accepts. Members can see the margin in billing records. No hidden charges.
Can shops and market stalls use KudiGrid?
Yes. Shop plazas, open markets, and market associations are a common use case. Each shop or stall can be treated as a member unit with their own meter profile or agreed contribution.
Can family houses use KudiGrid?
Yes. Family compounds — multiple households under one roof or compound — are one of our most common use cases. KudiGrid helps reduce the arguments that often arise over shared generator or DisCo bills in family settings.
Does KudiGrid handle NEPA or DisCo billing?
KudiGrid does not replace or interact with DisCo billing systems. It helps groups internally split the DisCo or generator cost among members — after the group has already paid the main bill.
Is my data safe?
KudiGrid stores data using Supabase, a managed database platform with row-level security. Your data is isolated per group. Platform admins cannot access group-level billing or payment data without appropriate authorization.
